Nason Construction Wins Industry Awards
North Dorchester Middle School Presented Excellence in Construction Trophy
Last evening, Nason Construction was presented an Excellence in Construction Award for its work on the new North Dorchester Middle School and a Chapter Safety Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) combined Chesapeake and Eastern Shore Chapters.
The new North Dorchester Middle School project, substantially completed by Nason in March 2009, is a 93,000 square foot middle school that accommodates 600 students. The school brings hi-tech learning tools into the educational setting with computers in every classroom, LCD projector linked to teaching stations, a wireless network throughout the school, and a TV production studio.
Green features of the new school include increased daylight and a geothermal heating and cooling system to make the building more energy efficient. Water saving and waterless fixtures were installed to minimize water usage.
The Chapter Safety Award was presented to Nason for its exemplary safety record.
“We are honored to be presented with these prestigious awards,” said Chief Executive Officer Thomas W. Nason, II. “Nason strives for excellence in all that we do, and these awards are a testament to our employees and their efforts.”
