Nason Construction Wins Veterans Affairs Project

Philadelphia Parking Garage to Add Over 400 Spots

Philadelphia, PA, March 8, 2010: Nason Construction was recently awarded a notice to proceed on the expansion of the Veteran Affairs Medical Center Parking Garage on Woodland Avenue. The garage will be built to help serve the 90,000 Veterans enrolled for healthcare at the PVMAC, as well as more than 2,000 employees, and will add essential infrastructure to serve the VAMC’s growing number of patients, staff and visitors.

The 450-car garage is a five-story precast concrete structure that will be built adjacent to the existing garage when complete in July 2011. The garage will be built on a very tight urban site in the heart of Philadelphia’s hospital district and work will include demolition, relocation of existing underground utilities, and new elevators.. The design was completed by Tim Haahs Associates and will be constructed to allow for additional vertical expansion as necessary.

“This federal project combines many aspects of Nason Construction’s expertise, including work in Philadelphia, for healthcare clients, and for government agencies,” said Nason’s Chief Executive Officer, Thomas W. Nason, II. “We are happy to be partnering with the Veterans Administration again, especially on a job that serves area veterans and their families.”
