Nason Joins the Seaford Library and Cultural Center for Grand Opening

New Library Gives Sussex County Residents New Community Resources

Salisbury, MD, December 10, 2009: Nason Construction today joined the Seaford District Library staff, friends, and patrons in opening the new Seaford Library and Cultural Center. Featured speakers at the ribbon cutting ceremony included Delaware’s Lt. Governor Matt Dean, Delaware Secretary of State Jeff Bullock, State Senator Bob Venables, State Representative Danny Short, and Seaford Mayor Ed Butler.

The new 18,000 s.f. library, located on Market Street in Seaford, DE, was completed under a design-build contract with Nason as the construction manager and StudioJAED as the architect. It features a children’s library and teen area, the general library book stacks, reading and study areas, and several conference and program rooms. A grand entrance lobby connects to an exhibit room and a multi-purpose room that can be used by Seaford residents for meetings and other community events.

“Nason Construction has been working with Sussex County officials, the Seaford Library staff and Friends of the Library for a number of years on this project, from conception and fundraising through to completion,” said Nason President Michael B. Berardi. “To see the library come to life for the residents of Sussex County, and to give those residents a place to meet and learn, is very rewarding.”
