Nason Construction provides construction management, design-build, general
contracting and cost management services for clients in the public and
private sectors. Drawing from over 80 years experience in the construction
industry, we are known for delivering our projects on time and on budget
by presenting our clients with an experienced and dedicated staff of
construction professionals. Servicing a wide variety of industries our team has successfully contributed to the construction and renovations of millions of square feet of healthcare, senior care, corporate, warehouse/distribution, light industrial, hospitality, educational and institutional space.
The construction management method of project delivery is very conducive
to fast-track delivery, and the contractor has overall accountability
for the construction management and project costs. In this delivery
method, the owner becomes an active member of the construction team,
thus is more involved in the overall process than in other project
delivery methods.
As the topic implies, this has been a traditional method of project
delivery, where the architect designs the project, then puts it out to
bid to a general contractor, and the general contractor bids it to
subcontractors. Construction begins after this process has been
completed.
Nason Construction typically approaches the design-build method of
project delivery by providing our clients with a GMP (Guaranteed Maximum
Price), which is more of a process than it is a statement of project
cost. A GMP is developed by the construction manager, working as part of
the design-build team. Participating in the early development stages of
a project, the CM is able to assist the design team in everything from
material selections to the most efficient layout for a particular type
of structural system. The goal is always to control costs and provide the
owner with the most cost-efficient building without compromising the
architect's design.
Value engineering is a service offered during the preconstruction
phase and is implemented with the intent of bringing in a facility with
the greatest possible value and consistent with the Owner's standards.
It is a systematic, creative effort to ensure that the essential
function of the facility, or one of its components, is provided at the
best value. In this process, life-cycle costs are also examined. |
