Description

The joint venture of Bradley Enterprises and Nason Construction was awarded a design-build contract by the US Army Corps of Engineers for a new $22.3 million Non-Medical Chemical Biological Defense Facility at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The building is part of the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission BRAC) program. The 75,000 square foot project was designed by EwingCole utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) and completed in 2011.

The Non-Medical Chemical Biological Defense Facility provides administrative support areas for military and civilian personnel from three bases in Texas and Virginia. The three-story, building accommodates 360 employees. State-of-the-art Department of Defense Anti-Terrorism Standards were incorporated into the design, and LEED Gold certification is in progress.
